QuranCast Launches on Google Play: Live AI Quran Teacher Now on Android

QuranCast by NEARFOLD (Dubai) has launched its Android app on Google Play, bringing its live AI Quran teacher — real-time Tajweed feedback while you recite — to the world's largest mobile platform. The app is free to download and includes 10 minutes of AI teacher time at no cost.
QuranCast is a Quran recitation learning platform with more than 370,000 downloads. Its core feature is a live AI teacher that listens to a student's recitation and corrects Tajweed mistakes — makhraj (articulation points), madd (elongation), ghunnah (nasalization) and qalqalah — in real time, 24 hours a day, with no waiting for a human reviewer.
What does the QuranCast Android app include?
The Android app puts the full live AI teacher session in your pocket: speak or plug in headphones, recite aloud, and the teacher listens silently, then gives spoken feedback and a score for each verse. The app includes:
- Live AI teacher sessions — real-time voice recitation with instant Tajweed correction and per-verse scoring.
- Recitation uploads with AI grading — record a recitation, upload it, and the AI grades it with a retry option if analysis fails.
- Structured learning modes — including Nazira (guided reading through a 29-stage curriculum), Hifz (memorisation) and My Journey (free-form practice).
- Progress tracking — verse-level progress, scores and streaks synced with the web app.
How much does QuranCast cost?
QuranCast is free to download and every new user gets 10 minutes of AI teacher time at no cost. After that, it is pay-only-for-what-you-use: one-time minute packages — not subscriptions — starting at $9.99 for 60 minutes, with 180-minute ($24.99) and 450-minute ($49.99) options. The clock only runs while the live AI teacher is connected.
Why does real-time Tajweed feedback matter?
Most Quran learners have no regular access to a qualified teacher. An analysis of 1,008 QuranCast AI-teacher sessions — covering 3,522 individual Tajweed corrections — showed the most common mistakes are in madd rules, ghunnah and articulation points: exactly the errors a live listener catches and corrects on the spot. The Android launch means that listener is now available on any modern Android phone.
Who is behind QuranCast?
QuranCast was founded by Bilal Ahmad, a Dubai-based media and education professional with 24 years of experience across digital media, mobile games and higher education. He leads QuranCast as Project Founder alongside his role as Division Chair of Applied Media at Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE. The platform began in 2019 (originally as Terteel) and launched in June 2020.
"We started QuranCast because thousands of sincere learners had no teacher available when they actually practiced," said Bilal Ahmad, founder of QuranCast. "An AI teacher that listens, corrects and encourages — at midnight, in any time zone — removes that barrier. Android is where most of our community lives, so this launch matters."
What's next?
An iOS version is in development. The web app at qurancast.co remains the most complete experience and stays free to start.
